Oludare Shorunke
Oludare Shorunke is an esteemed professional in the field of librarianship, known for his exceptional knowledge of academic library standards, passion for driving information literacy programmes and library service quality. With over a decade of experience, Oludare has made significant contributions in academic libraries, recently at the University of Lagos where he managed various sections of the library to meet institutional goals and accreditation requirement, and earlier at the Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology where he played a pivotal role in setting up the university library and promoted library services to support teaching, learning and research.
Over the years, Oludare has contributed to library strategic plan, formulated and implemented operational goals within the academic library system that addressed the short- and long-range goals; met with various stakeholders within the university system to update and discuss library concerns and objectives; contributed to the designs and implemented policy decisions relating to all aspects of the library operation. He has served as liaison to establish positive relationships for mutual benefit of the academic community and the library system; and coordinated the responsibility of key operations: facilities, finance, information technology, information literacy, and personnel through the management of various units of the library, as well as overseeing the activities of branch libraries.
Oludare holds a Bachelor’s and Master's degree from the prestigious University of Ibadan. He is currently at an advanced stage of his doctoral degree. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professional (UK) and duly registered with the Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria. Additionally, he has contributed to knowledge production in librarianship and has attended numerous professional development programmes to stay updated with the latest advancements in the field.
